This time last year, I finally took courage to embrace my love for makeup by creating a separate account dedicated only to beauty.
Not only that, I posted my first ever makeup video on YouTube.
For years, I had restricted myself from trying to look good. I was one of those mothers who DGAF about how they looked, as long as their kids were properly clothed. Not only that, I was in that crazy time in my life when grooming was considered flirting or prettying for another person. That was also the time I’d hardly buy anything for myself. I had no balls to even stand for myself. Not that I wanted one. Haha!
But then tables were turned and my pain led me to a blessing. I got to be ME again. Then again, who WAS I? Little by little, I took my baby steps to knowing myself deeply and to savoring my freedom to embrace my individuality.
Fast forward to 2010 or 2011, I discovered my first makeup heroine – MICHELLE PHAN. I can still remember the first video I clicked. It was her Lady Gaga’s Poker Face makeup tutorial. I was so amazed by the magic of makeup!
Few more months passed, and I began playing with makeup. I started with brands I could easily get. I even used the so-called ‘SG Authentic’ eyeshadows.
And the rest is history. 🙂
Fast forward to NOW. I’ve posted 590 photos on my beauty IG account, as of the moment, and a number of makeup videos on YouTube. I’ve done a few mini giveaways, too!
Now I’d like to give back some more love through my #RIXMUKAPat1 Giveaway! Here are the items the winner will get:
Back in October of last year, I was lucky to be a part of the first Meet & Greet and the third blog-versarry of MJ Perez of Vanity Room Philippines! The event was fun-filled and was truly inspiring. I loved that he wanted to share his blessings, not only to us – his friends/followers, but also to the less privileged children.
After the charity event, we had a sumptuous dinner at Dong Juan where we also played fun games and received loot bags filled (literally) with skin care products!
The product is housed in a round transparent acrylic pot with white screw cap. The label has all the basic information that you’ll need to know – what it is for, the amount of product in the container, what it is made of, where and when it was made, how to use it, and when the expiration date is. First things first, let me begin this post by telling you some things that must be considered:
I had not used any toners before I got this. It’s been ages since I last used one.
I was having a bad skin day when I received it – more like bad skin dayS – so my skin was rough and I had several pimples on my forehead, somewhere on the cheeks, and around the mouth area.
I’m not a doll so I don’t have a perfect skin. I’ve had pimple marks and scars and that’s that.
I don’t get facials. The first and the last time I did was at Flawless Sta. Rosa back in 2016, and that’s how I got my huge pimple scar on my right cheek underneath my eye. I had an acne when I went there, and my attendant pricked it.
Of course, this is not the only product that I’m currently using. However, I can tell that the results I got was from this product, since the other products were already being used even before I had the toner.
This product was sent to me to try and review.
DO NOTE, THOUGH, THAT I ALWAYS GIVE MY SUPER DUPER HONEST OPINION AND I BASE EVERYTHING ON HOW I FEEL DURING THE PROCESS AND HOW GOOD THE OUTCOME IS. SO IF I SAY I LOVE IT, THAT MEANS I LOVE IT, AND IF I SAY I HATE IT, THAT MEANS I HATE IT.
ALSO, REMEMBER THAT NOT BECAUSE IT WORKS FOR ME, IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. BUT WHO KNOWS? RIGHT? BETTER TRY IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. 😉

Previously, I posted a product from Nature Skin Secrets and that was their Detox Mask with Black Combo. I honestly loved the result the product gave me, so despite the lack of information on the labels and my messy first time experience, I still recommend this mask. It’s just a matter of knowing how to properly use it.
Fortunately for me, the kind people behind the brand loved my review so they sent me a couple of their other products to try. They even included a cosmetic bowl with a spoon and a brush. (Thanks so much, Ms. Maui and Ms. Cecil! 💕)
One of the perks of having attended Glamcon MNL last January 21st was being able to get free samples from participating brands. One of those brands was Naruko.
Naruko was founded by Niuer, whom everyone in Taiwan refers to as the “Beauty King”. The brand was awarded the “Best New Brand 2010” in Taiwan and China, and for three consecutive years (2008-2010), it was considered as “the most outstanding contribution to beauty”.
First things first, let me just say that I had a wonderful time at Glamcon MNL. It was such an amazing experience for people who were into anything beauty-related, not to mention, a fan of big beauty vloggers.
But first, what is Glamcon MNL? You might as well read this first.
Now that you’ve read it (I hope you really did), you may already know now that this event wasn’t free. There were five tickets available: Queen, Diva, Glitterati, Glamderella, and Glampass. Queen being the most expensive, and Glampass the most affordable. You can see what’s included in each package in my previous post.
To be very honest, I thought the prices cost the earth, so I just relied on fate – that is if I won in a giveaway.
Lucky me, I earned myself a free pass as a blogger – not just one but two Glamderella tickets! (Thanks Ms. Leo My!) They were just right for me and Guil. The next day, I found out that I won a Diva pass in Ms. Jessica Godinez’s giveaway! Gurrrrrl, I was SHOOOKETH! 😜 Continue reading “What went down at Glamcon MNL 2018”→
The Glamcon MNL community celebrates beauty made even better through the power of makeup. Makeup and beauty enthusiasts are all invited to attend the biggest beauty party of 2018, Glamcon MNL 2018 to be held at the SMX Convention Center Aura on January 21, 2018.
We all know that beauty is found within, but a little lipstick and a swipe of mascara never hurt anyone!
Despite the many advances of society, wearing makeup remains as something a person turns to when trying to hide their imperfections. Though this is a big part of the reason why people wear makeup, we must also remember that makeup is used to bring out our best assets!
Glamcon MNL believes that there is no shame in putting on makeup. It is an art and a form of expression of one’s creativity. Anyone rocking a sharp wing liner or a natural looking drunk blush is just as beautiful as their barefaced self.
Moreover, Glamcon MNL wants to remind every Filipina —and Filipino, that there are no rules in wearing makeup, so feel free to explore and experiment with colors, shapes, and contour shades.
As we go about our daily life, our skin gets exposed to dirt and other unpleasant stuff. Gunk, makeup, dust, and bacteria sit on our skin and clog up our pores. This causes our skin to break out.
That’s why thorough cleansing is important. Imagine your kitchen sink drain if it’s filled with lots of gunk, pieces of food, and toothpaste! (Ugh!)
We need something that can draw the bacteria, chemicals, and dirt out of our skin. According to the experts, one of the best ways to do it is to use activated charcoal. Nowadays, there are a handful of products whose main ingredient is activated charcoal — from toothpaste to face masks.
The past year was definitely like being on a giant swing. Adventurous. Thrilling. Terrifying. Exciting. Nauseating.
It wasn’t really that bad, actually. There were still a lot of things to be grateful for. One of these amazing things was being given the opportunity to try the products in this cleverly curated box from Althea! (Thanks, Ms. Tammy and to Althea Mermaid and Pixies! 😘)
As someone who’s on a budget, but just as enthusiastic about makeup as any other beauty junkie, I get excited when I see affordable cosmetics that WORK! I get excited over affordable dupes or local products that cost three to five times lower than the high end ones. Of course, who wouldn’t want to own those upscale products?! Pero if hindi talaga kaya, bakit ipipilit, ‘di ba?
You have no idea how thrilled I was upon learning that Detail Make Over was going to release new eyeshadow palettes back in September. Fortunately, they had a Buy 1 Take 1 Promo last month, so I was able to avail of the two palettes for the price of 1! Yep! You read it right! Each palette costs P699, but I was able to score both of them! Yay!
