May the PORES be with you… NOT! RIXREVIEWS: Sooper Beaute Candy POREfecting Cream Foundation

Pores… Pores… Pores… Spare me your mercy!

Hey there, Playmates! How’s it going?

If you have problems with pores and are looking for ways to hide them, but you want to stay within your budget, then you’ve made the right decision coming here!

Introducing…

Sooper Beaute Candy POREfecting Cream Foundation!

1

You’re welcome!

(Just a little disclaimer lang, this method does not SHRINK pores permanently. This only makes huge pores appear smaller, and smaller pores look even smaller.)

Okay, first and foremost, keep your face clean! This is pretty basic. We all know that a clean face is a MUST. This way, our skin looks brighter and the pores less visible.

Wash your face with your favorite cleanser; as for me it’s the Faith Hope Love Coffee Soap. Coffee has antioxidants and is believed to help tighten pores. It’s better to wash with warm water first, then finish with cold water. Warm water to open the pores and get cleaned; cold water to seal the deal. 😉

Use a cool facial mist before packing your face with makeup. Pop your mist in the refrigerator and let chill. This will freshen up your skin, close your pores, and keep the safe from bacteria and dirt. I recommend the Cucumber Hydrating Mist, also from Faith Hope Love.

Use a silicone-based primer! Primers can be really tricky. If you used too much or if you didn’t let it set properly, your makeup would just slide off easily. (Charged to experience!) Also, remember to pat it on the problem areas; do not rub! There are different types of primer – water-based, silicone-based, and oil-based. Silicone-based primers are recommended to those who have pore-blems. 😉 They sit on top of our skin and have pore-filling properties. Take note that silicone-based primers work much better on silicone-based foundations.

As for this look, I did not use my favorite primer. Instead, I used Sooper Beaute Candy POREfecting Cream Foundation, which also contains Dimethicone. ( Yep it is silicone!) By the way, this is a Filipino brand, formulated and manufactured here!

This is the final look.  Refer to my instagram post for the products used.

Packaging

The product is housed in a squeezable plastic dropper bottle, which is pretty neat because it gives you a better control on the amount of product you want to dispense. The plastic screw cap makes it hygienic and secure. Carrying it around is sooper convenient, since it’s small and lightweight. It usually comes in a box, but mine didn’t. Not that it matters. But hey, I want the box, too!

Ingredients

Since the bottle is too small, there isn’t enough space for the ingredients. If the ingredients were, indeed, printed on the label, I doubt they’d be readable. Mine didn’t come with a box, so I don’t know if they do have them listed there. So, I headed over their page and checked the product description.

The ingredients are as follows:

I think they really have to double check the spelling… 🙂

Aqua, Stearic Acid, Isostearic Acid, Polysorbate 65, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Triocranoin, Dimeticone, Titanium Dioxide, Cyclopentasiloxane, Silica, Iro Oxide,Phenoxyethanol, Buckwheat Ferment Extract, Bee Venom, Witchazel Extract

Like last time, let’s have a quick run-down.

Aqua is water; Stearic Acid is an emulsifying thickener with softening effect; Isostearic Acid is a binder; Polysorbate 65 is an emulsifier and a stabilizer for color; Glyceryl Stearate SE* gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance; Dimethicone fills in lines and wrinkles on the face and acts as a barrier on the skin; Titanium Dioxide is a whitening agent and a UV blocker, but stirred controversy due to some theories that it MIGHT be harmful to our health; Cyclopentasiloxane keeps the moisture locked in; Silica makes the distribution of pigments even; Iron Oxide is for the color; Buckwheat Ferment Extract is used as a natural antioxidant and anti-ageing material; and finally, Bee Venom is said to fight acne.

The other ingredients were excluded because they were either already mentioned in my previous posts or I couldn’t find a proper explanation from a proper source.

*Glyceryl Stearate is said to be comedogenic, so check the ingredients if it has SE after Stearate. If it does, it’s safe. SE stands for Self-Emulsifying.

Learning about the ingredients of the product is truly essential if you want to know which ones are good for the skin and which ones are not. Some of the ingredients are minerals, while some are derived from animals. If you’re vegan, then this is ABSOLUTELY not for you.

Scent

It has a gentle candy-like scent that isn’t irritating or over-powering. I guess it wasn’t named such for nothing.

Texture and Consistency

It has a thin consistency, a bit liquidy but not runny. When I put it on the back of my hand, it didn’t move or drip. I really like the texture of this foundation – smooth and really easy to work on. It blends easily and does not dry fast. It isn’t clumpy either so the application is as easy as pie.

Price

This small bottle with 15g of product only costs P180. I think this is budget-friendly, and would be a good choice for those who don’t want to splurge.

Usage

This product can be used as it is or as a makeup base. If you want to use it alone, you might want to build it up for a better coverage. One layer of it gives a sheer to light coverage, like how a tinted moisturizer would. It can be used with a brush or a beauty sponge, but as for me, I prefer applying it with my ring finger.

For me, the Candy POREfecting Cream Foundation works perfectly well with Beauskin Invisible Pores Foundation. It’s also silicone-based and it makes the skin look even. I have huge pores and pimple scars, and I’m not kidding when I say they appear smaller with these two products together.

2

The Invisible Pores Foundation gives you a dewy finish, while Candy POREfecting Cream Foundation is demi-matte – somewhere between dewy and matte. If you’re aiming for a dewy finish, you can leave it as it is. You can also pat on some pressed powder or use a stippling brush. Do NOT swirl the brush! 🙂 If you like a matte finish, then I suggest that you bake your face with loose powder.

REMEMBER! Whichever finish you’re going for, make sure you press your sponge against your skin to get everything blended together. (I learned this technique from Wayne Goss.)  I suggest that you do this after applying your foundation and concealer, after baking, and before you dust off the excess powder from baking.

5
This is the final look.  Refer to my instagram post for the products used.

There you have it! For less than P1,000, you can have LESS PORES (if not PORELESS)!

Watch my review on Beauskin Invisible Pores Foundation here:

I also have a video of this dewy makeup look, but it’s still up for editing. I’ll keep this post updated! 🙂

UPDATE: The video’s finally up on my channel! Watch it here:

For now, here’s the final look with these two foundations:

3
I didn’t use to like dewy looks, but boy oh boy, I’m lovin’ this glowing, healthy-looking skin! Where are my pores? xD

RIXMUKAP: Bold & Edgy Red Makeup Using PINOY Products

Many of us think that we need expensive high end makeup just to create certain makeup looks.

That’s why some resort to using fakeups (short for fake makeups) just because they carry a certain brand’s name. Some people even believe in the so-called “SG Authentic”.  C’mon! If a high end makeup costs too low, you should think twice. A high end is a high end, so if it’s way too cheap then that’s shady.

You only need to look around and be a good treasure hunter! There are so many good local products online and instore that are equally affordable but more effective and safer.

You can create simple looks, even bolder looks like what I did here, with local products.

For my eyes and brows, I used three liquid lipsticks which are listed below.

Take note that two of the products I used weren’t local brands. I used Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer, which is a Korean brand. The Pinoy primer I used to own was Sooper Beaute Express Beauty Blur Cream Primer Foundation (and yeah, it’s a pretty loooong name), but I gave it to my friend because she had never heard of the brand and I wanted her to try it.

The other non-local product I used was Maybelline Magnum VolumExpress mascara. It’s locally available, though. It can be purchased online or your favorite makeup stores. Mine was bought at SM beauty section. I don’t buy mascaras that often, since they have very short shelf-life (THREE EFFIN’ MONTHS!). I heard that Fashion 21 mascara is amazing, so I’m gonna give it a go next time.

Now, here are the Pinoy products that I used to create a monochromatic look:

Once my primer was set, I applied my foundation with a damp mini beauty sponge that I got from my Work & Play Box from WAP Cosmetics. Since this shade is lighter than my skin tone, I had to mix it with my Makeup World Cover Up Concealer.

14

Where I bought it: BeautyMNL
Price: P299

  • Makeup World Cover Up Concealer in the shade Nude

This shade totally toned down my foundation and even added coverage to it. I used this to spot conceal, to highlight my undereyes and T-zone, also as an eyeshadow base.

5

Where I bought it: BeautyMNL
Price: P199

I set my foundation and concealer with a loose powder using the same beauty sponge. I pressed and rolled the sponge all over my face for a more even and smoother finish.

leiania

Where I bought it: BeautyMNL
Price: P160

I used the shade Vamp on my brows. Because of its thin consistency, it became a perfect base for the other liquid lipstick. I dabbed some product on the back of my hand first and used an angled brush to apply it on my brows.

6
Naked (L); Vamp (R)

Where I bought it: @kissmebettermnl
Price: P230

After applying the base for my brows, I applied a darker liquid lipstick on top, concentrating on the tails and the edges of the brows.

1
Lica (L); Erie (R)

Where I bought it: Colourette Cosmetics
Price: P299 (50% OFF; Reg. Price – P599)

I used some neutral shades on the crease and lower lash line, and some dark shades on the outer V.

1

Where I bought them: BeautyMNL
Price: P265

After putting some concealer on the lids, I swirled my brush all over the rainbow highlighter and applied it on top of the concealer. Doing so creates a light prismatic effect. I also put some on the tear ducts and the inner corners of my lower lash lines.

rainbow dash

Where I bought it: Hello, Gorgeous! by Skinline
Price: P350

Since these eyeshadows are shimmery, I added a little bit of the lightest shade on my lid and the topmost shade in the middle (purplish one) on the outer half of my lower lash line.

6.jpg

Where I bought it: The SM Store Beauty Section
Price: P85

  • EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick in the shade Rich Vino

I used a plum liquid lipstick to create a winged eyeliner. Just like what I did with the other liquid lipsticks, I dabbed some product on the back of my hand and used an eyeliner brush for the application. This product sets longer than other matte liquid lipsticks, by the way. Careful not to touch it!

This is the same liquid lipstick that I wore on my lips. Matchy matchy!

3
(from L-R) Pink Pearl, Chocolate Truffle, and Rich Vino

Where I bought it: Watson’s
Price: P180

I mixed both the contour shades to create shadows on my face, particularly on the hollows of my cheeks, temples, jaw line, and along the edges of my face including the edge of my forehead. I used the lighter contour shade on the sides of my nose, on the groove under my nose, and the crease between my lower lip and chin.

I used the highlighter on the highest point of my cheeks, the bridge and the tip of my nose, cupid’s bow, chin, and a little on my forehead.

21.jpg

Where I bought it: BeautyMNL
Price: P349 (I got it on SALE; Reg. Price – P499)

For my blush, I mixed two shades from this palette. You’ll see which ones I used in the video below. This has a lot of kick ups, so you have to be gentle when picking up some product with your blush brush. This is also very pigmented; make sure to use a light hand.

By the way, this palette has two variants – Blush and Tangerine. As far as I know, the one I got was called Tangerine, because that was what it said on the box. But looking at their website, this palette seems like the Blush one. So, sorry because I, too, am a little confused!

5.jpg

Where I bought it: It was included in the kit during the Enhance Cosmetics Workshop.
But you can get it at: Enhance Cosmetics
Price: P500

After applying my mascara, I carefully put on my falsies. These may not be as soft as the other lashes, but they’re really pretty and affordable. Make sure they’re not too long as they could poke and irritate your eyes.

4
Penelope (Top); Sophia (Bottom)

Where I bought it: BeautyMNL
Price: P75 (SALE; Reg. Price – P100)

And this is the final look:

RIXREVIEWS: K-Beauty – KARADIUM

If you have been following me on Instagram or on YouTube, you would know that I was one of the lucky BFF’s who won amazing Korean beauty products from YEF Philippines.

YEF ALL

Most of the makeup products that we received are from the brand called Karadium. Karadium has been in the market since 2010 offering unique products that become international bestsellers. Their products are also paraben-free!

Thanks to YEF, I’ve been able to use these amazing products! Now, let’s get on with the review! 😉

Collagen Moisture 2-Way Cake Foundation in #23

two cake
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩26,000 (around P1,147)
  • YEF PH website: P480 (reg. price: P1,083)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion.)

Just like any other two-way cake foundation, this can be used wet or dry. It has a round mirror that’s the same size as the compact itself. Like a Korean BB cushion, it has separate a pan for the puff.

It gives off a better coverage and a smooth-looking skin when used wet. If you’re going for a longer-lasting coverage, this is the way to go. Simply wet the puff or any sponge of your choice, then squeeze out the water before applying it onto the skin.

For dry application, this foundation is good for setting your liquid or cream foundation. I think the finish is too powdery so using a mist afterwards will be a good idea. It can also be used as it is for a light coverage.

Since most Korean foundations or BB creams are light, No. 23, which is the darkest, is still quite light for me. I always have to use a bronzing powder or a darker powder to neutralize the color.

As for the scent, it is really subtle, so it’s okay for those who are quite sensitive with odors.

I like how this looks on my skin once it sets. It also does not make my face too oily after hours. It kinda gives my skin a healthy dewy look. I also love the fact that it has SPF 25 PA++, protecting my skin from the sun. It also has anti-sebum properties that help absorb excess oil.

Cream Cheek Stick in No. 5 Shading

cream cheek
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩25,000 (around P1,101)
  • YEF PH website: P520 (reg. price: P1,042)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This product has five shades:

  • #1 Indie Pink (blush)
  • #2 Warm Coral (blush)
  • #3 Soft Peach (blush)
  • #4 Highlighter
  • #5 Shading

The shade that I’ve got is for contouring.  But since I, like most Filipinos, have tanned skin, this will not give enough definition on the face. It will only give a really subtle effect, which isn’t bad if you’re going for a natural look.

I really love the packaging and the fact that it comes with a flat top brush, which is placed on the other end of the product. Super convenient! The product itself is soft and creamy that it glides smoothly and blends nicely.

Flat Eyebrow Pencil in No. 4 Gray Brown

flat eyebrow
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩8,000 (around P352)
  • YEF PH website: P220 (reg. price: P333)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

Initially, I didn’t think I’d like this shade because I normally used dark brown on my brows. It turned out that it was just fine, since my eyebrows are naturally black. It isn’t as dark as black, but it’s definitely good for filling in my brows.

It’s an angled pencil, which I think is perfect for natural brow makeup, so it doesn’t create harsh lines nor does it clump my brow hairs. It can be used alone or with other brow products such as gel, pomade, or powder.

It also comes with a spoolie, which is on the other end of the pencil. It makes doing my brows convenient, since I don’t need to bring a separate spoolie when I travel.

The only downside is the fact that it is a retractable pencil; once it breaks, it IS broken. I may put the broken pencil back into the tube, but it won’t securely stay put. If worse comes to worst, I lose that pencil… then, bye, bye!

Well, I guess I just have to be extra careful with it. 😉

Here are the other shades:

  • #1 Black Brown
  • #2 Dark Brown
  • #3 Real Brown
  • #4 Gray Brown
  • #5 Light Brown

Final thoughts:

Shining Pearl Eyeshadow Stick in No. 6 Chocolate Brown

shining
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩15,000 (around P661)
  • YEF PH website: P360 (reg. price: P625)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This is perfect for those who are always on-the-go! With its pen-type retractable eyeshadow that has a really smooth texture, you won’t need high makeup skills to apply it. You won’t also need to bring a separate brush or mess up your finger because it already comes with a sponge tip for blending.

As seen in the photo above, it comes in 10 shades, and mine is the 6th one from the left – Chocolate Brown. What I do is apply it on my entire lid, just beneath my crease. Then, I blend it out with the sponge blender. I want to intensify the crease area so I focus on it more. Then, blend it out again.

This shade can be used alone or with other makeup products. It’s also good for days when I want a natural look. It looks better with a nice eyeliner, too!

The other shades look really pretty, I might try and get some.

The names of the shades are:

  • # 1 Snow White
  • #2 Ice Pink
  • #3 Orange Marmalade
  • #4 Gold Night
  • #5 Honey Beige
  • #6 Chocolate Brown
  • #7 Daily Brown
  • #8 Caramel Gold
  • #9 Rose Gold
  • #10 Reddish Pink

Final thoughts:

On the Top Fiber Curling Mascara

fiber mascara
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩16,000 (around P705)
  • YEF PH website: P667 (reg. price: P320)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This mascara has two variants: curling and volume. Take a look at the photo above. Notice that the wands are different from each other. The one with the curled wand is for curling, (obviously); while the one on the right, the thicker one, is for volume.

I LOOOVE this mascara. The formula is so good that it does not clump my eyelashes. The curled wand is thin enough that it can reach the extremities. I usually find it hard to apply mascara on the lashes near the corner of my eyes, but this product has made it a lot easier. As well as with my lower lashes, the application requires little effort.

One thing that I don’t like about it is, it tends to smudge. I have very oily skin that’s why I prefer using waterproof mascaras and eyeliners. When my face oils up and the lashes touch the skin, it smudges and creates black patches on my under eye and the outer corners. If I had dry skin, I don’t think it would be a problem.

Oh My Lips in No. 1 Deep Red

oh my lips
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩14,000 (around P617)
  • YEF PH website: P340 (reg. price: P583)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

The packaging of this lipstick is A-OK! Ingenious! Instead of the usual pull-up cap, it has a twist-up cap! Yes, you twist the cap to open, and just twist again to lock it. No more messy pouches or bags! No more dented or broken lippies!

The product itself is really pigmented. I can create a bold look by applying it evenly on my entire lips. To create a “naturally bitten lips” look, I concentrate on the inner center of my lower lip then smudge it with a brush or my finger to cover the rest of my lips. This creates a gradient look – dark in the center and light on the edges.

It’s so creamy it effortlessly slides on my lips and blends beautifully. It does not settle in the lines or crevices or in the dry areas. Like any other cream lipsticks, it is not transfer-proof or smudge-proof.

It has 6 shades:

  • #1 Deep Red
  • #2 Orange Red
  • #3 Tangerine
  • #4 Royal Pink
  • #5 Peachy Pink
  • #6 Pink Beige
  • #7 Pink Balm

Real Water Puff

real water puff
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩10,000 (around P441)
  • YEF PH website: P270 (reg. price: P417)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

Another Karadium product that I loooove! This puff is so good that you won’t think it’s inexpensive. It’s in a bottle gourd shape, which I find more convenient than the teardrop shape. The inner curves make holding it easier and more secure. IMO!

This puff almost doubles in size when damp. It’s really soft it gently bounces on my face, blending my makeup well without hurting my skin.

The tip reaches the curves and crevices of my face, just like what we all expect from any other beauty sponges.

I haven’t tried a Beauty Blender yet, so I don’t really know the difference. But I can compare it with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. To be honest, I find both of them effective and I think they work pretty much the same. The difference, apparently, are their shapes.

Final thoughts:

17351249_10212804241769196_787621821_n

They also have a cute collaboration with Pucca, which is a super cute collection! It’s the Karadium x Pucca.

pucca love edition

Pucca Shine Eyeshadow in No. 4 Antique Shine

pucca shine eyeshadow
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩16,000 (around P705)
  • YEF PH website: P299 (reg. price: P690)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

First of all, it has a really cute packaging. With a transparent cover with Pucca printed on it, this compact single eyeshadow is truly an eye-catcher.

It comes in six pretty shades:

  • #1 Beige Shine
  • #2 Gold Shine
  • #3 Flower Shine
  • #4 Antique Shine
  • #5 Sunshine
  • #6 Smoky Shine

Notice that all shades are really close to skin tones; they are intended to make our eyes look pretty but still gravitate towards natural look. It’s really soft and does not dry our sensitive eyelids. It also lasts throughout the day without creasing.

I love how buttery it feels and does not have a lot of kickback when using a brush. It gives off a proper amount of pigmentation with both brush and finger.

This can be used as it is, but it can also be used along with other makeup products.

Final thoughts:

Pucca Pen Eyeliner in Black

pucca pen eyeliner
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩14,000 (around P617)
  • YEF PH website: P290 (reg. price: P583)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This, among everything I received, is my most favorite! The packaging is super cute! It looks like a pen. The container is thicker than the usual eyeliners, so I find it easier to control because it just feels like any other regular pens.

It has a really soft tip making the application super easy. It’s like an art brush pen; I can create thick or thin lines effortlessly. It is an ink-tank type so the product is dispensed evenly, preventing the eyeline from cutting-off. The formulation is stunning, but make sure you shake it well to get the full pigmentation.

This eyeliner holds up pretty well since it’s waterproof, but it can’t withstand the oiliness of my face during hot and humid weather. The good thing about it, though, is that re-application is not a problem. I just re-apply when the color fades off and it looks perfect again.

RIXREVIEWS: MAKEUP WORLD PH

One of my YouTube friends requested for a one-brand makeup video (shoutout to Ajhay Urbi! Subscribe to her channel!) and I started thinking of which brand to use. I have done it before with Avon products, unfortunately, I can’t really consider it a one-brand look since I used a different foundation. I didn’t have any Avon foundy that time.

I also considered Ever Bilena, but I decided having something not many people had already used. I will still do it with Ever Bilena, though, just not for my first.

I almost ended up with San-San and Shawill, but I saw Makeup World in BeautyMNL. (Special shoutout to Mariel Orolfo whom I first learned about this product. Watch her video using the Ultimate Palette!)

So that’s when I got myself these products:

18
I got Cream Silk for FREE! Yay!

I got 6 products from Makeup World, a growing Pinoy brand with a very interesting concept in their palettes.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw all the Makeup World products because of the packaging! You’ll never think that these are actually very affordable, which is a +++ for me!

Now, let’s break this down and start with the foundation.

Makeup World Cover Up Foundation in the shade Natural

14

“CLAIM TO FAME: A lightweight liquid foundation for a smooth, flawless look

FAST FACTS: Delivers full color coverage; buffs and blends into skin seamlessly; smoothens away fine lines, large pores, and rough areas; evens out a patchy skin tone; leaves a shine-free natural finish

PERFECT FOR: All-day skin polish”

To be honest, I love this product. I actually thought I’ll be needing to give this away, but I decided to keep it. I have been using this every day ever since I got it.

First thing I noticed is that it has a thick consistency, so you might wanna start with a little amount. It’s buildable anyway, you can add another layer without feeling sticky or heavy. It’s surprisingly lightweight and super blendable considering its consistency.

In my opinion, however, it does not have full coverage; but I can say it’s medium. It evens out my skin tone, but still does not completely cover up my pimple marks.

Aside from being lightweight, it has a demi-matte finish. There’s a little bit of dewiness, but it’s still more on the matte side. It also lasts all day and I don’t feel too sticky with it on my face even on a hot day.

It can be used alone, but to completely enjoy its effectiveness, better hydrate your face with a mist, moisturize, prime, and bake.

My only problem with it, is the shade. My bad, though. I picked the wrong one. I chose Natural, which turns out to be lighter than my skin tone, so I ended up mixing it with the Cover Up concealer which you will read about shortly.

Makeup World Cover Up Concealer in the shade Nude

5

CLAIM TO FAME: An all-around creamy concealer that hides spots, blemishes, and under-eye circles

FAST FACTS: Lightweight, highly-blendable formula covers up imperfections; helps smoothen patchy areas to create the perfect base; evens out skin tone; ideal for bare-faced weekends

PERFECT FOR: Color correction and barely-there beauty”

Mixing this with the foundation works wonders on me. It has toned down the light shade of the foundation, so it perfectly matches my skin tone. It has improved the coverage of the foundation without making it patchy or cakey. It also dries down to matte and is really lightweight, so I don’t feel like I have makeup on!

My face does not also go crazy with it. It doesn’t have any breakouts or irritations.

Its consistency is similar to that of the foundation and it blends amazingly, too.

By the way, there is a slight scent to it, which isn’t irritating.

Makeup World Cover Up Pressed Powder in the shade Natural

7

CLAIM TO FAME: A full-coverage powder pact for polished, perfect skin

FAST FACTS: Buildable formula covers and conceals blemishes and imperfections; smoothens away fine lines, large pores, and rough areas; evens out patchy skin; leaves a long-wearing matte finish

PERFECT FOR: Keeping excess sebum and oil under control”

Some powders are too powdery that my skin looks weird under them. But this powder does not give you a weird powdery finish, even if it’s matte. It has also helped even out my light foundation, and sets it and my concealer nicely.

12

It also lasts for hours and I think it keeps the oil at bay.

It also a mild scent, which is not overpowering nor annoying.

11

It comes with a puff that can pick up enough product and can apply the powder properly on the face.

Makeup World Eyeliner Pencil in Black

15

CLAIM TO FAME: An easy-to-use creamy pencil that smoothly applies intense color

FAST FACTS: Quickly draws thin to thick lines without tugging skin; highly pigmented formula delivers a bold, dramatic finish; available in gorgeous eye-enhancing neutrals

PERFECT FOR: Standout eye definition”

It’s about 7 inches long which is not bad for only P99. It’s long so it will surely go a long way. It does have a creamy texture so it glides on the skin smoothly. I use it on my brows, too, and I have to keep a light hand as it is so pigmented. I don’t want to make my brows look unnaturally drawn.

Since it is creamy, it easily blends in the skin with an angled brush. You can also have an instant smokey eyes look, by lining your eyes with this pencil and blending it out with a brush.

I guess the only issue I have with this eyeliner is that it is not smudge-proof even when it sets.

I still use it on my brows. 🙂

Makeup World Transformation Palette in Natural/Glam

10

CLAIM TO FAME: A travel-friendly palette that lets you change or enhance your regular beauty look

FAST FACTS: Features 3 layers of makeup in gorgeous glam hues; contains 8 eyeshadows, 8 lipsticks, and 2 blushes; provides natural to smoky shades for added intensity; lets you change your look with a few additional strokes of color

PERFECT FOR: Work and play”

This is, indeed, perfect for on-the-go women (and makeup lovin’ men, too!). With all the makeup included in this palette, this will surely lessen the amount of items in your kikay kit!

8

All the eyeshadow shades are perfect for day to night look. The pigmentation is pretty good, for something that’s as affordable as this. The color pay-off is quite impressive as well. It’s not buttery, though. In fact it’s quite powdery and the shimmery shade is a bit chalky, which I don’t mind at all, since it works well.

I love the color selection, because there is a light shade which is perfect for the base and brow bone. There are neutral shades, which are perfect for transition color, and for the lids, too. There are darker shades perfect for creating shadows on the crease and the outer V. Some of the browns are also good for contouring; while the shimmery gold can pass as a highlighter.

Here are the swatches of the eyeshadows:

Now let’s move on to the lippies.

6

All the shades in this palette are wearable, which is good, of course. We can choose a shade that suits our mood for the day. There are reds, pinks, and nudes. They are quite pigmented and they feel good on the lips. I’m not really a fan of the texture, though. It feels super creamy; when you touch it with your finger, it’s like touching a piece of chocolate that starts to melt.

But the good thing, though, is once it sets, it doesn’t feel as creamy. I think it can also last a few hours, because the swatches on my arm didn’t budge easily. My lips also feel moisturized.

swatch

Moving on to the next layer, which contains the powder blush.

There are two blush shades, one is a peachy pink and the other one is a shimmery light pink.

4

As you can see the pans are quite big, so you won’t run out of your blush that easily. They’re also very pigmented, so you need to use a light hand as you pick up some product and gently apply it on your cheeks. You wouldn’t wanna pack your brush with it, you might end up looking sick with a terrible allergy or sunburn.

Overall, this is a great palette for travelling, as well as for working. This is good for college students and for practical mommies who want to save some money.

Makeup World Pucker Up Lipstick in the shade Dublin

16

It’s creamy and quite pigmented even in one swipe. But, since it has a matte finish, it doesn’t look good on chapped dry lips. Make sure to moisturize and exfoliate. Use a lip scrub or your toothbrush to gently remove dead skin on your lips.

It’s also long-lasting; it leaves a neat stain after a few hours.

The lips feel moisturized, though, despite being matte. My only issue is the swatch in the picture. I chose this shade because of this:

op-DUBLIN_2
It looks like a mauvy pink, right? But the actual lipstick isn’t mauve at all. Nude pink, but it gravitates towards pink more.

RIXREVIEWS: Sooper Beaute

Hello, again! It’s been a while! It’s like having slept for years and getting kissed by a prince. Here I am again with yet another review of a local brand called: Sooper Beaute by M. Palma’s Skin Care Products.

I was initially confused with the pronunciation. When I read it whether in my head or aloud, I was like “Super Bowtey? Super Beauty? Super Byut? Super Bowt?” But a friend told me it’s really “Super Beauty”. So, “Super Beauty” it is.

(UPDATE: I DM-ed them on IG and they confirmed, just now, that it’s really “Super Byut”.)

1

These are the: Express Beauty Blur Cream Primer Foundation, Wonder Cream Super Fresh Day Cream, and So Matte Lipstick. I actually won these ladies from Mariel’s giveaway; it was my FIRST WIN! (Yay!)

Now, now. Let’s talk about these beautiful local ladies. The first one is the Express Beauty Blur Cream Primer Foundation.

25

It’s a tinted primer, which you can use alone or under your favorite foundation, BB cream, or powder. I think it has about 10g of product. It has a powdery scent, which will remind you of your lola or nanay, but it’s not irritating naman. It has a smooth texture that easily spreads out on the skin.

Although there is a light tint to it, it doesn’t really have much coverage. However, I’m surprised at how it kinda blurs out my pores and my pimple marks! My skin feels smooth after this primer sets, making the application of makeup a lot easier. I have also used it alone, and it wasn’t that bad.

One problem I encountered with it was its oil control. Despite the impressive finish of my makeup, my face had an oil party when I used it at a wedding.

17
Look at how shiny my face had become! I blotted every few hours, no retouching of powder.

I’ll still use it from time to time, but I think my Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer still reigns.

Final thoughts:

two-thumbs-up

Now, let’s move on to the next product. Here’s the Wonder Cream Super Fresh Day Cream with SPF 20.

34

This has a very light powder scent and a thicker consistency than the Blur Cream Primer Foundation. From the container, the shade looks a bit dark, but when applied, it isn’t that dark. It actually turns into white and leaves a powdery finish. Well, it’s supposed to do that, but I’ve tried and tried and it never ends up fine for me. This is what this product looks like on my skin during the application:

Because the cream turns into powder, the product dries up easily and once it dries, it become more diffucult to manage and spread. The product starts crumbling and you’ll see that it gets patchy and flaky. Since I have tanned skin, the product leaves a white cast, reminding me of my kindergarten days when mom just covered my face with Johnson’s baby powder and blending was NOT necessary. 😀

I would’ve been happy with it, but I’m afraid it didn’t make it to my faves. So…

Final thoughts:

nah

Finally, I also have the So Matte Lipstick in the shade Lyra. I’ve been seeing this shade all over IG. It’s a lovely rosy pinkish nude that’s super matte. It gives you that “your lips but better” look. It’s super matte that the lipstick itself is dry, so there’s a bit of lip tugging. But it isn’t really that bad. It’s pigmented anyway, and has good color pay-off.

67

Suprisingly long-wearing! Here are the swatches:

8
Top: 1 swipe; Bottom: multiple swipes; Photo taken at 4:02 PM

And just to show you its longevity, here’s what it looks like now (it’s 11:22 PM):

swatch2
It has faded, of course, but it has left some color on my skin and it seriously won’t budge! Even when I rub it, it just stays on my skin!

The only problem I encountered was this:

9

Right after opening the product, the lipstick fell off the tube. The product performs well, so this problem won’t really bother me much. I just hope it doesn’t happen to the other lippies.

Final thoughts:

yasss
It’s a product worth purchasing.

Thanks for reading and I hope this review helps you decide whether you’re getting these or not. Just bear in mind that you may purchase anything you wish to purchase, regardless of how I or anybody else views them. Because what really matters is your own opinion. It’s already a cliché, but it’s true when they say: What doesn’t work for me, may work for you.
