PHOTO DIARY #2: Colourette X Boss Babes Brunch

Date: May 19, 2018, Sat
Location: Early Bird Breakfast Club, Eastwood Mall, QC

The amazing people behind my favorite local makeup brand created a Facebook community called “Boss Babes”. Among many makeup groups on Facebook, Colourette X Boss Babes has quickly become everyone’s favorite because of its friendly atmosphere. It is where you’ll see members uplifting other members through compliments, advice, recommendations, and words of empowerment. It is where they can share their selfies freely without any fear of getting harshly criticized.

Ms. Nina and Ms. Sab, the Big Boss Babes of the brand, came up with the idea of dedicating a new collection to the Boss Babes called Velvet Mattes. To make it even more exciting, they held a very special meet and greet with 10 of the Colourette Clique members. Just in case you have no idea what Colourette Clique is, it’s a group of social media influencers  who represent the brand. Ms. Nina asked us who we’d love to meet in person. I was so happy that most of the people I chose were included in the final list.

When Ms. Nina finally dropped the bomb, I really made it a point that I had to be there no matter what. In order for us to secure a slot, we had to be one of the first 50 to purchase all three shades (freebies included), which were going to be available on their website at 9 PM of the 15th.

All the Boss Babes were glued to the computers and smartphones, constantly refreshing their browsers to check if they were already up. However, it was not even 9 PM yet when their website kept crashing! So a few minutes after 9, Ms. Nina immediately created a thread in the group where we could secure a slot. I even commented on the wrong post haha! Luckily, Dang mentioned me in the right thread.

So May 19 finally came! Woot Woot!

Most photos are raw; the others were edited in Snapseed. All photos were taken with my Acer Liquid X2.

I have my very own YouTube PLAY button for hitting 1k!

Sorry if I’ve been out of synch these past few days, but this just can’t wait ’till tomorrow!

I HAVE HIT 1K SUBBIES ON YOUTUBE AND I GOT MY VERY OWN YOUTUBE PLAY BUTTON!
WOOT! WOOT!

This journey has been pretty long and tough and I even came to the point when I got so disappointed with myself. I felt like I wasn’t good enough. But as I meet new people and gain new friends; and with the support of my already very close friends who have been with me all these years (you know who you are), and my family who constantly encourage me to keep going, I formed a ball of confidence and completely changed my attitude towards this whole YouTube “career” if I may call it that.

All I know is I’m enjoying what I do, whether or not I get something from it, I want to keep doing it because this is one of the things that keep me sane despite the many stressful moments.

Today (I wish I knew what time it was), while I was tuning Yuki, my ukelele, Guil started singing 🎶 CONGRATULATIONS! CONGRATULATIONS! 🎶 as he was going down the stairs. I wasn’t looking at him when he put a red rectangular thing on my lap. (Oh my gosh! I can’t even remember if he did put it on my lap or if he held it out for me to see.)

I couldn’t stop laughing, but my eyes welled with tears. He and the boys had been keeping it a secret for a while now. He said he made it when I only had around 600 subbies. Tim, on the other hand, had almost spilled the beans as he kept giving tiny hints. Still, I had NO idea it was a MOSAIC PLAY BUTTON. 😂

My heart is still racing up to this moment. I’m happy I finally reached a thousand subbies, but I am even happier to know that I have a very, very supportive family. I have the sweetest partner and I won’t trade him and the boys for anything.

And to you, yes, YOU 👇 who have become a part of this journey…

Thank You!

From the bottom of my heart…

Thank you~

And because of that I’m finally announcing the winner to our #RIXMUKAPat1 #Raceto1K Giveaway!

Wait for my updated giveaway video!

RIKANOBELA: #TransformationTuesday

It was year 2013 when I finally gave in and tried my hands at doing makeup. I was so amazed by the power of makeup and I had really loved watching Michelle Phan’s videos. I had literally no idea which one to put on first. I constantly Googled which one had to be done first: eyebrows or eyeshadows? Eye makeup or face makeup? I even searched for “Which brush is for which?”

Back then, I would only buy a lipstick and pressed powder. I wouldn’t buy another lipstick unless I finished one. Kilay was not “life” haha! Continue reading “RIKANOBELA: #TransformationTuesday”

RANT: LBC EXPRESS – A Real Party-Pooper

On the day Vice Cosmetics was launched online, I immediately purchased a lip kit and posted my review on it.

Included in the Phenomenal Lip Kit was a ticket, which I decided to giveaway on my Facebook page. I was meaning to go to the concert, but there was a change of plan. Just so the ticket wouldn’t be wasted, I decided to give it to someone who could really, really go.

A week later, I posted the winner of my mini giveaway and it was Ms. Arianna Sales. Continue reading “RANT: LBC EXPRESS – A Real Party-Pooper”

HOPIA moments, REGRETS, and anything in between

One of the things that small v/bloggers wish to experience is to be invited to an event. Last month, I got an invitation from a friend, who’s a fellow blogger (and someone I can consider my senior when it comes to blogging), to go to a clinic’s anniversary with him. I could not contain my happiness when I read his message, so I excitedly filled out the registration form through the link that he sent me. My friend (by the way he’s MJ aka Vanity Room Philippines. FOLLOW him!) asked me to let him know if I did not receive any e-mail by the 25th. (Or some time around that.)

Came 25th, there was no e-mail. That was when I lost my confidence and got gobbled up by the thought that it was just one of those “HOPIA” moments. (“Hopia” is actually moon cake, but has been given a new meaning – hoping for nothing.)

Okay, let me just clarify why I was too pessimistic. Continue reading “HOPIA moments, REGRETS, and anything in between”

THE AWESOME BLOGGER AWARD

Hi! I know it’s been pretty quiet on my blog lately. (Sorry about that!) My sleeping habits have changed yet again, and my work’s been up to my eyeballs.

The other day, I saw a very interesting book in a friend’s IG story and I thanked her for sharing it. The author seemed to have been inspired by The-Boy-Who-Lived and it caught my eye. The book is shattering, though, but it is truly an eye-opener.

Anyways, the same friend nominated me as one of her five Awesome Blogger awardees. (Thank you!!!) Her name’s Rosemarie, also known as @theimportedwife. Her blog is awesome, totally worth reading.

So, here are the rules. They’re really simple:

⚡ Thank the person who nominated you.
⚡ Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
⚡ Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
⚡ Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
⚡ Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
⚡ Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated.

Now, let’s get to her questions.

1. If your life is going to be a movie or a book what would be its title?

Hmmmh.. Tough one! After several minutes of thinking, I came up with “Too Young to be Old, Too Old to be Young”. heehee

I’ve made “adult” decisions at quite a young age and because of this, I had to experience adulting early. It may not seem like it, but I think maturely. Because of this, I only got to really enjoy myself later in life. Now I feel like I’m too old to do stuff I should’ve experienced in my salad days. I’m still trying to keep up, y’know? I hope it really IS never too late.

2. Do you share your blogs with your friends or just the blogging community?

During my first months of blogging, I just kept my blog to myself. Then some people online stumbled across my [first] blog and found myself in a blogging community. Later on, I started sharing my blog posts on my Facebook. A few of my friends read them, but it wasn’t (and isn’t) really a big deal. The fact that there are people who read my blog already makes me happy. (But of course, I’d love to see my stats going up! 😀 )

3. What’s the story behind your blog name?

RikaNobela because this is MY story. 🙂 Whatever I post, whether it’s a product review, something I experienced, a place I went to, food I cooked or ate, and whatnot, they’re all from MY life. So I’m basically sharing some parts of my life and fragments of my thoughts. Rika, which is my nickname (my full name’s Rikatrina) and I think our life is more like a written narrative, right? So yeah, Nobela (novel).

4. If you could go back or start over college, would you change your major? What is it going to be?

Perhaps not. I DO love to teach and I love English. But perhaps I would, too. I’d love to learn more about Psychology and Creative Writing.

5. What is your most annoying habit that you want to get rid of?

PROCRASTINATING! So much stuff to do, but I end up telling myself ‘mamaya na!’ I want to be consistent and to be more punctual. Like now, I still have so much in my hands, but they’re still sitting on my desk.

6. If you could move and live to a different country or city, where it would be?

Inasmuch as I’d love to live in the Philippines, I would also wanna see and experience what living in Australia is like. We have friends and relatives residing there, and I think there are amazing places and better job opportunities.

7. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Lying. Whether or not it’s the so-called “White Lie”. I don’t care if it’s going to hurt, but I’d rather be told the awful truth than a yummy chocolate-coated lie.

Pretentious. I hate posers! People who claim to be a fan of someone or something, but as they keep talking, you’ll see how little they really know.

Know-it-alls who don’t really have any idea what they’re talking about. Ugh!

BRAGGARTS. Braggart braggarts and humble braggarts. Basta braggarts! You’ll know naman who’s just sharing and who’s bragging, eh.

For example, I have this high school schoolmate, who wasn’t really one of the popular kids in school. Later on in his life, he secured a job abroad and started earning big. He then started posting photos of his new iPhone, new DSLR, new car… Okay, these things are tolerable. But this: “Hirap talaga mag-vacuum ng auto, buti na lang meron akong Black and Decker.” I mean… What’s the point?!

8. What is your top 5 blogging tips for new bloggers?

Hmmh… I honestly don’t feel entitled to give any tips or advice (since I’m not a pro) but if I must, I guess, that would be:

  • If you are going to review a product, try to be as detailed as possible. As a reader myself, I want reviews that can provide me with essential information that can help me decide whether or not I should buy a product. I am also very curious about how it looks so the next on this list is also advised…
  • Take as many photos as you can. Make sure the photos are clear, sharp, and interesting. Professional cameras are not a requirement, I myself use only my Acer Liquid X2, then use some photo editing apps to make my photos look better. But if you have a nice camera, then better.
  • Use appropriate descriptive words, especially when reviewing a product or an item or a place. One rule in writing is that we should try, as much as we can, to avoid using the same word repeatedly. When my memory fails me, I often get help from a dictionary or a thesaurus, to find a proper synonym for the word.
  • Proofread your work. Before hitting Publish, you would want to re-read your work more than twice. I suggest that you give yourself at least about 1-hour interval, because our eyes notice errors better some time after writing it. A mistake in grammar can change the context entirely. Better check everything first before making your post public. I learned a great deal out of my own experience. I often got too excited about publishing my post, then I ended up editing it tons of times!
  • Like what you’re writing. It is important to know the latest fad… to stay-up-to-date, but you don’t need to write about something you don’t like. You have to LIKE what you write. You have to be interested in your topic to keep the ideas coming. Whether the product you’re reviewing is something you recommend or disapprove of, you should at least be engrossed in your subject.

Hope these simple tips help! Coming from an amateur such as I am!

9. Who would you consider your best travel buddy?

I’d say my partner, Guil. He knows a lot of things when it comes to places. He has a good sense of direction, and I feel safe and less awkward when I’m with him.

10. If you only have a day to live, who are you going to spend it with and why?

Oh, of course my family. We would eat together, watch a movie together, sing together… I’ll hold and embrace them until the last second of my life.

Wow… The last question was pretty tough! Thanks, Rose, for these really challenging questions. Now, I nominate you, my wonderful blogger friends!

Here are my questions… (uhm well they really aren’t questions, but yeah, you get the idea):

  1. One reason you started blogging
  2. Two names you considered before you came up with your final blog name
  3. Three things you always do before writing an article
  4. Four songs you love listening to at the moment
  5. Five things that never leave your bag
  6. Six places you’d love to travel to if given the chance (regardless of the money)
  7. Seven kinds of food you’d like to eat RIGHT NOW
  8. Eight adjectives that could describe you (and please add a short explanation)
  9. Nine makeup items you wish to have by the end of 2017
  10. Ten things you would change if you had the power to do it

I can’t wait to read your answers!

MONTHLY FAVES: Jan. to Jun. 2017

Hey there, Playmates! Today, I wanna share with you my favorite makeup items or tools for the months of January to June.

Just remember! The products shown under a certain month, may not have been purchased in the same month. There were times it took me a while before I truly appreciated a certain product.

So without any further achuchuchu, let’s get started!

January

Colourette Colourstick in the shade York

7

Eversince I got this, I had been wearing this lippie for the whole month! It’s from their Morena Love Collection. As you can see, it is a delicious greige shade that has a little more brown tone to it. I LOVE bold lipstick shades, so when this particular shade came out, I knew I had to have it. PLUS it’s pigmented, made with natural ingredients, moisturizing, and local!

Price: P499
Where I bought it: Christine Herrera of South Stylista

EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick in the shade Rich Vino

10

Another local brand that made into my faves list is this EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick in Rich Vino. In all honesty, although I had some Ever Bilena products, I never used to be a fan. But this particular product changed everything. When matte liquid lipsticks boomed, a lot of Pinoy brands released their own line, but – let’s be honest – a lot of them weren’t even close to those of the expensive  foreign brands. Then this happened. I’m really impressed that for its really REALLY low price point, I hit a jackpot. The color pay off and the pigmentation left me open-mouthed. It felt comfortable on the lips, too. It lasted for hours, and did not budge when I ate or drank. It faded a little but retouching was never a problem. Just remember that it does not dry down to matte in a snap; it usually takes minutes before it completely sets.

Price: P180
Where I bought it: Watson’s

February

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip and Ultra Satin Lip

9

For this month, the first on the list are these liquid lipsticks from Colourpop. These were my first Colourpop, to be honest, and that’s when I fully realized why this particular brand gets a lot of love. It’s not just because it’s affordable, but because it does work amazingly! I got two Ultra Satin – Hutch and Calypso; and one Ultra Matte – Notion. Despite the fact that I prefer Ultra Satin than Ultra Matte due to its creamy finish, I still love using either of them whenever I go out. I feel unfazed when I have any of them on my lips; I just know I won’t look stupid with patchy lips.

Price: P410 (might be lower in other sellers)
Where I bought it: @themakeupstore.mnl

Ginger and Aki

8

This isn’t makeup, but this is one of my must-wears this month. It’s a leather bracelet from @gingerandaki and it was included in my Saladbox. As you can see, it’s super simple, but that’s why I adored it. I am in love with its simplicity. The magnetic locks add class to it. I wore this every single day I went out and I felt naked without it. Because of this, it started to wear out, and I need to get a new one!

Where you can buy it: @gingerandaki

March

BH Cosmetics Shaaanxo Palette

This has become a total must-have for me. Since it’s got 9 eyeshadows and 9 lip colors, what more can you ask for? The pigmentation is amazing. The eyeshadow shades, which are matte and shimmery, are good for day to night looks; the lip colors look and feel good on the lips. I didn’t use to like the lip products but as I kept on wearing them, I started to appreciate them. They actually feel good on the lips and they can stay on for hours! It’s convenient for travelling; you won’t need too many products in your kit.

Price: $14.50 (I got it in a bundle so the price was lower.)
Where I bought it: BH Cosmetics

BH Cosmetics BH Liquid Eyeliner

bh

Another one from BH Cosmetics, this is the BH Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I got this in a bundle, along with the Shaaanxo Palette. I. LOVE. THIS. PRODUCT. Next to my all-time fave Tony Moly Back Gel Liner, this is my go-to eyeliner. It’s easy to use. It does not clump or cut off during the application. It glides smoothly. It lasts all day! (And all night when I fell asleep with my makeup on!) I highly recommend this product.

Price: $4.99 (Watch out for promos! Sometimes it’s free!)
Where I bought it: BH Cosmetics

Faith. Hope. Love. Coffee Soap

faithhopelove coffee soap

I have two separate blog posts where I mentioned this particular product. Please click the links below:

SPOILER: I AM IN LOOOVE WITH THIS SOAP

Price: P150
Where you can buy it: @faithhopeloveskinfood

Faith. Hope. Love. Cucumber Hydrating Mist

faithhopelove coffee mist

This has become a staple product in my routine. I spray it on after washing my face and before my moisturizer. This is also included in my post “Pinoy Products You Should Try Right Now!”

Price: P160/50ml
Where I bought it: @faithhopeloveskinfood

April

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis The Red Edition

4

My first high-end brand! Haha! Who wouldn’t be excited to have these?! These are from a friend who works in Dubai. Getting a minis set is so much better than getting only 1 or 2 full-sized products. In this set, I get 4 gorgeous red shades – 3 mattes and 1 metallic. The ones with matte finish are Heartbreaker, Material Girl, and Famous. So that leaves Showgirl. I have used all these shades and have tested their performance. I am in loooove! It has a really thin consistency, but the pigmentation is CRAZY!

Watch this video below for more:

Price: (depends on the seller)
Where you can buy it: @themakeupstore.mnl

Kiss Me Better Lip Creams

6

This is Kay’s (aka Mojito Monologues on YouTube) newest line – her very own organic lip creams. I had them in March, but it really hit me last April. I used them almost every day both on my lips and my cheeks. The cooling sensation soothes my lips while giving off a natural color. They’re also really easy to blend, so using them on my cheeks was never a problem. They’re also transfer-proof once they completely set. I have two out of five shades namely: Naked (nude with a hint of pink); and Vamp (a dark shade of red).

Price: P230
Where I bought them: @kissmebettermnl

Terra Merita Natural Oil Cocktail; Watering Cocktail

13

I got a handful of product samples from Mara when she came home for Christmas. I was quite hesitant at first, mainly because all the details were written in Japanese. (Thanks, Google Translate!) Basically, it’s a natural facial oil that moisturizes your face. It comes with hydrating liquid that also acts as a toner. Continuous use of this product gives a positive result.

May

Beauskin Invisible Pores Foundation

1
L-R: Makeup World Cover Up Foundation, Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation, L’Oreal Stay Fresh Foundation, Beauskin Invisible Pores Foundation, and NYX Total Control Drop Foundation

I have oily skin so I always stayed away from foundations with dewy finish. So when I got it back in April, I felt a little disappointed because it was super dewy, BUT I did love it because it truly minimized the appearance of my pores PLUS it is lightweight. My skin looked really smooth most especially after baking and setting it with loose powder. When we stayed in Baguio for three days, this was my go-to foundation. I thought this foundation was the better choice since it was cold in Baguio. Matte foundations turn really patchy when the weather is cold.

Price: P420
Where I bought it: Christine Herrera of South Stylista

A-Skin Sebo Control Shampoo

sebo
Photo grabbed from Google

This is one of the prizes I received from YEF Philippines. This is not your ordinary shampoo. When it says it clears our scalp and hair from oil, dandruff, and excess sebum, it DOES clear all the dirty stuff! But remember to use a conditioner afterwards, as it could feel a little dry. If you have oily scalp and hair, I highly recommend it! It’s a bit pricey though, so I guess I’ll have to start saving up while I’m halfway down the bottle.

Price: P500 (regular price: P625)
Where you can buy it: YEF Philippines

Karadium

selfie

I looove all these Karadium products! Kindly check out my separate post:

RIXREVIEWS: K-Beauty – Karadium

Where you can buy them: YEF Philippines

Real Techniques Ultimate Base Set

11

These are my first Real Techniques makeup tools and I finally understand why they’ve gotten so much love from many makeup enthusiasts. They work like magic! I love how the Expert Face Brush (the big one) blends my foundation nicely and pushes the product into the pores, giving it a medyo flawless na look. The Miracle Complexion Sponge works just as fine, so I can’t really tell which I like more. The Deluxe Concealer Brush can also be used as a blending brush for eyeshadows, but it also does what it was built for. It blends the concealer seamlessly. The only trouble, perhaps, is that it’s too small that working on the undereye takes a longer time.

Price: P1,050
Where I bought it: KALM Cosmetics

 Sheet Masks

sheet masks
Photo grabbed from Google (I DO hope, tho, that I have this many!)

Korean sheet masks have finally taken a huge space in my heart! I was never a fan; I didn’t understand what the fuss was all about, until YEF Philippines gave me three awesome sheet masks, and that’s when my love blossomed! I used sheet masks for 5 consecutive days as a treatment or therapy for my terrible skin. Moisturizing is the key to make other facial products work more effectively! It softens the skin making it easier for the skin to absorb any product we apply. Then, I set a schedule for my home facial treatment every Monday and Thursday. (See: Taking Facial Care More Seriously)

Price starts at P25
Where you can buy it: BeautyMNLYEF Philippines, and many other online shops (make sure they’re legit!)

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

3

I had seen so many positive feedbacks on this product and the moment I learned it was one of the prizes I received from the YEF PH giveaway, I was thrilled! Although I started using it the previous month, it only started really getting into me three weeks ago. I didn’t regularly use it last month, until I began my own skin care routine this month. I love this product from the smell to its texture to what it actually does to my skin after rinsing. My skin feels uber clean and smooth afterwards, I know it really does remove the nasty stuff on my face. The best thing about this product – it’s made with natural ingredients!

Price: P300 (reg. price of P462)
Where you can buy it: YEF Philippines

And that wraps up this blog. Thanks very much for reading and making it all the way here!

RIXREVIEWS: K-Beauty – KARADIUM

If you have been following me on Instagram or on YouTube, you would know that I was one of the lucky BFF’s who won amazing Korean beauty products from YEF Philippines.

YEF ALL

Most of the makeup products that we received are from the brand called Karadium. Karadium has been in the market since 2010 offering unique products that become international bestsellers. Their products are also paraben-free!

Thanks to YEF, I’ve been able to use these amazing products! Now, let’s get on with the review! 😉

Collagen Moisture 2-Way Cake Foundation in #23

two cake
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩26,000 (around P1,147)
  • YEF PH website: P480 (reg. price: P1,083)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion.)

Just like any other two-way cake foundation, this can be used wet or dry. It has a round mirror that’s the same size as the compact itself. Like a Korean BB cushion, it has a separate pan for the puff.

It gives off a better coverage and a smooth-looking skin when used wet. If you’re going for a longer-lasting coverage, this is the way to go. Simply wet the puff or any sponge of your choice, then squeeze out the water before applying it onto the skin.

For dry application, this foundation is good for setting your liquid or cream foundation. I think the finish is too powdery so using a mist afterwards will be a good idea. It can also be used as it is for a light coverage.

Since most Korean foundations or BB creams are light, No. 23, which is the darkest, is still quite light for me. I always have to use a bronzing powder or a darker powder to neutralize the color.

As for the scent, it is really subtle, so it’s okay for those who are quite sensitive with odors.

I like how this looks on my skin once it sets. It also does not make my face too oily after hours. It kinda gives my skin a healthy dewy look. I also love the fact that it has SPF 25 PA++, protecting my skin from the sun. It also has anti-sebum properties that help absorb excess oil.

Final thoughts:

Cream Cheek Stick in No. 5 Shading

cream cheek
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩25,000 (around P1,101)
  • YEF PH website: P520 (reg. price: P1,042)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This product has five shades:

  • #1 Indie Pink (blush)
  • #2 Warm Coral (blush)
  • #3 Soft Peach (blush)
  • #4 Highlighter
  • #5 Shading

The shade that I’ve got is for contouring.  But since I, like most Filipinos, have tanned skin, this will not give enough definition on the face. It will only give a really subtle effect, which isn’t bad if you’re going for a natural look.

I really love the packaging and the fact that it comes with a flat top brush, which is placed on the other end of the product. Super convenient! The product itself is soft and creamy that it glides smoothly and blends nicely.

Final thoughts:

Flat Eyebrow Pencil in No. 4 Gray Brown

flat eyebrow
Photo grabbed from their website

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩8,000 (around P352)
  • YEF PH website: P220 (reg. price: P333)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

Initially, I didn’t think I’d like this shade because I normally used dark brown on my brows. It turned out that it was just fine, since my eyebrows are naturally black. It isn’t as dark as black, but it’s definitely good for filling in my brows.

It’s an angled pencil, which I think is perfect for natural brow makeup, so it doesn’t create harsh lines nor does it clump my brow hairs. It can be used alone or with other brow products such as gel, pomade, or powder.

It also comes with a spoolie, which is on the other end of the pencil. It makes doing my brows convenient, since I don’t need to bring a separate spoolie when I travel.

The only downside is the fact that it is a retractable pencil; once it breaks, it IS broken. I may put the broken pencil back into the tube, but it won’t securely stay put. If worse comes to worst, I lose that pencil… then, bye, bye!

Well, I guess I just have to be extra careful with it. 😉

Here are the other shades:

  • #1 Black Brown
  • #2 Dark Brown
  • #3 Real Brown
  • #4 Gray Brown
  • #5 Light Brown

Shining Pearl Eyeshadow Stick in No. 6 Chocolate Brown

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩15,000 (around P661)
  • YEF PH website: P360 (reg. price: P625)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This is perfect for those who are always on-the-go! With its pen-type retractable eyeshadow that has a really smooth texture, you won’t need high makeup skills to apply it. You won’t also need to bring a separate brush or mess up your finger because it already comes with a sponge tip for blending.

As seen in the photo above, it comes in 10 shades, and mine is the 6th one from the left – Chocolate Brown. What I do is apply it on my entire lid, just beneath my crease. Then, I blend it out with the sponge blender. I want to intensify the crease area so I focus on it more. Then, blend it out again.

This shade can be used alone or with other makeup products. It’s also good for days when I want a natural look. It looks better with a nice eyeliner, too!

The other shades look really pretty, I might try and get some.

The names of the shades are:

  • # 1 Snow White
  • #2 Ice Pink
  • #3 Orange Marmalade
  • #4 Gold Night
  • #5 Honey Beige
  • #6 Chocolate Brown
  • #7 Daily Brown
  • #8 Caramel Gold
  • #9 Rose Gold
  • #10 Reddish Pink

On the Top Fiber Curling Mascara

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩16,000 (around P705)
  • YEF PH website: P667 (reg. price: P320)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

This mascara has two variants: curling and volume. Take a look at the photo above. Notice that the wands are different from each other. The one with the curled wand is for curling, (obviously); while the one on the right, the thicker one, is for volume.

I LOOOVE this mascara. The formula is so good that it does not clump my eyelashes. The curled wand is thin enough that it can reach the extremities. I usually find it hard to apply mascara on the lashes near the corner of my eyes, but this product has made it a lot easier. As well as with my lower lashes, the application requires little effort.

One thing that I don’t like about it is, it tends to smudge. I have very oily skin that’s why I prefer using waterproof mascaras and eyeliners. When my face oils up and the lashes touch the skin, it smudges and creates black patches on my under eye and the outer corners. If I had dry skin, I don’t think it would be a problem.

Oh My Lips in No. 1 Deep Red

*Price:

  • Karadium website: ₩14,000 (around P617)
  • YEF PH website: P340 (reg. price: P583)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

The packaging of this lipstick is A-OK! Ingenious! Instead of the usual pull-up cap, it has a twist-up cap! Yes, you twist the cap to open, and just twist again to lock it. No more messy pouches or bags! No more dented or broken lippies!

The product itself is really pigmented. I can create a bold look by applying it evenly on my entire lips. To create a “naturally bitten lips” look, I concentrate on the inner center of my lower lip then smudge it with a brush or my finger to cover the rest of my lips. This creates a gradient look – dark in the center and light on the edges.

It’s so creamy it effortlessly slides on my lips and blends beautifully. It does not settle in the lines or crevices or in the dry areas. Like any other cream lipsticks, it is not transfer-proof or smudge-proof.

It has 6 shades:

  • #1 Deep Red
  • #2 Orange Red
  • #3 Tangerine
  • #4 Royal Pink
  • #5 Peachy Pink
  • #6 Pink Beige
  • #7 Pink Balm

Real Water Puff

  • YEF PH website: P270 (reg. price: P417)

Another Karadium product that I loooove! This puff is so good that you won’t think it’s inexpensive. It’s in a bottle gourd shape, which I find more convenient than the teardrop shape. The inner curves make holding it easier and more secure. IMO!

This puff almost doubles in size when damp. It’s really soft it gently bounces on my face, blending my makeup well without hurting my skin.

The tip reaches the curves and crevices of my face, just like what we all expect from any other beauty sponges.

I haven’t tried a Beauty Blender yet, so I don’t really know the difference. But I can compare it with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. To be honest, I find both of them effective and I think they work pretty much the same. The difference, apparently, are their shapes.

  • YEF PH website: P299 (reg. price: P690)
(*May vary depending on KRW to PHP conversion; may be lower during PROMOS/SALE)

First of all, it has a really cute packaging. With a transparent cover with Pucca printed on it, this compact single eyeshadow is truly an eye-catcher.

It comes in six pretty shades:

  • #1 Beige Shine
  • #2 Gold Shine
  • #3 Flower Shine
  • #4 Antique Shine
  • #5 Sunshine
  • #6 Smoky Shine

Notice that all shades are really close to skin tones; they are intended to make our eyes look pretty but still gravitate towards natural look. It’s really soft and does not dry our sensitive eyelids. It also lasts throughout the day without creasing.

I love how buttery it feels and does not have a lot of kickback when using a brush. It gives off a proper amount of pigmentation with both brush and finger.

This can be used as it is, but it can also be used along with other makeup products.

This, among everything I received, is my most favorite! The packaging is super cute! It looks like a pen. The container is thicker than the usual eyeliners, so I find it easier to control because it just feels like any other regular pens.

It has a really soft tip making the application super easy. It’s like an art brush pen; I can create thick or thin lines effortlessly. It is an ink-tank type so the product is dispensed evenly, preventing the eyeline from cutting-off. The formulation is stunning, but make sure you shake it well to get the full pigmentation.

This eyeliner holds up pretty well since it’s waterproof, but it can’t withstand the oiliness of my face during hot and humid weather. The good thing about it, though, is that re-application is not a problem. I just re-apply when the color fades off and it looks perfect again.
